Chinese University of Hong Kong Information
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (香港中文大學 – CUHK) will be spread across nine colleges in Ma Liu Shui, Sha Tin, and New Territories. Currently four exist, the first of these were the New Asia Chung Chi, and united colleges; the other is Shaw College.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong ranking is number 11 in Asia in the University Review List. Similarly ranked colleges include Hokkaido University, National Taiwan University, Tsinghua University, and Kyushu University.
Other Good colleges in Hong Kong include the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the City University of Hong Kong.
The five new colleges will be called Lee Woo Sing, C. W. Chu, S. H. Ho, Wu Yee Sun and morningside colleges. Currently the Chinese university of Hong Kong attracts around 20,000 students half at the undergraduate level and half taking out post-graduate studies. The current chancellor is Donald Tsang, who presides over what the Times of London considers to be the 38th best university in the world.
As can be expected from the countries second oldest university the Chinese University of Hong Kong is offers a diverse range of study options with programs provided by nine main faculties and schools. These cater for the core areas of Arts; Business Administration; Education; Engineering; Law; Medicine; Social Science; and Science; there is also a dedicated graduate school at the Chinese University.
This university fairs very strangely in academic university rankings results with the Shanghai based ARWU usually considering it within the 150th to 250th best university in the world whereas the Times of London rates it must higher and considers the Chinese University of Hong Kong to be one of the best 40 universities.
