Student Experience

Many students comment on how cheap the price of tuition at ASU is, this couple with the fact that the college incorporates many facilities such as admission to events and games, fitness and exercise centers, parking passes, and most importantly food means that the university offers tremendous value for money. Although the overall costs of studying at the ASU are more than reasonable many scholars refer to the ease of which they were able to get a scholarship, although many people note that many of them are not openly advertised so you may need to do some searching about to find what is truly available.

It is recommended that you purchase a car, as it will make it much easier to get around, and Jonesboro may feel a bit restricted if you do not already have friends and family there and are used to a larger city environment; Memphis is about an hour and 10 minutes drive away. That said, Jonesboro is far from the worst place on Earth and has a new shopping mall, movie and dramatic theatres, and the park offers numerous biking trails.

The Arkansas State University, Jonesboro offers a good college life experience with many clubs and groups to join, plenty of Sororities and fraternities if you are into Greek life, and lots of opportunities to partake in sport, both at the recreational and competitive levels. Many remark on the high quality of the football team, which always attracts large crowds. In general it is thought of has a fun campus to live and study at.

Most people enjoy living in the dorms on the campus, though some comment that unless you choose a room mate in advance that you will likely be sharing a room with a stranger. This of course can be both good or bad, you may get along like fire or end up trying your best to avoid each other, who knows what the future brings, though I’d personally think of something like this as a chance to get to know someone new and to enlarge your circle of friends.

Students feel that the level of education offered is fairly challenging and that most of the lectures and professors are excellent, and as long as you put in the necessary effort you should come away with a good degree and an enhanced quality of life.

The food on campus is considered to be quite good with the best place to eat being the Student Center. The campus is thought of as being very safe and is very well lit. The campus police make their presence known and are happy to provide assistance if required. Security is high meaning that people breaking into parked seldom occur.

To summarize, most students feel that A-State offers a good standard of education in a fun and safe environment.
