About the University of British Columbia
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is located in Canada, and was founded in 1908 as a public institution. The University of British Columbia ranking is 2nd best in Canada, and 28th best in the world. Similarly rated Canadian colleges include University of Toronto, McGill University, McMaster University, and University of Alberta.
It is situated in a campus of around 1.7 Kilometers square in Vancouver.
There are around 36,000 undergraduate students at the UBC CA and approximately 8,000 postgraduate scholars, in addition to the 3200 faculty. The university of British columbia’s president is Martha Piper. The schools mascot is the Thunderbird. It is a member of the Universitas 21 network.
The libraries of the University of British Columbia hold over 4.7 million bound volumes. This makes them the second biggest research library in the whole of Canada. In addition to the books the UBC libraries also contain over five million works on microfilm and close to a million maps.
