Situated in Lyngby, close to Copenhagen in Denmark, the Technical University of Denmark (Danmarks Tekniske Universitet – DTU) opened its doors in 1829 under the guidance and initiation of Hans Christian Ørsted.

Today the university has expanded to include around 11,000 faculty, staff, researchers and students and is rated as one of the top universities in Europe. The Technical University of Denmark ranking is 62nd in Europe.
