Umeå University (Umeå universitet) is located in the European country of Sweden and was established in the mid 20th Century. Since then it has grown in size to cater for around 34,000 students and staff.

Umeå university has five main faculties; these are dedicated to the Arts, Medicine, Teacher Education, Social Sciences, and Science and Technology. In all the university offers over 800 different courses, allowing for the study of over 50 different degree programs. Additionally Umeå has six schools these are dedicated to Business; Design; Environmental studies; Fine Arts; Restaurant and Culinary Arts; and Technology.
